Where do you deliver?
We only deliver to the ‘UK Delivery Area’ of mainland England, Wales and Scotland (excluding Highlands). We regret that we don’t deliver to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, other UK islands, BFPO addresses and overseas.

What is the cost of delivery?
Delivery is FREE except for Saturdays (£4.95).

When will you dispatch my order?
Orders received before 2pm GMT can be dispatched the same day if the order requires it. For orders received after 2pm, the earliest date of dispatch will be the next working day. For order dispatch, ‘working days’ are defined as Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Orders are not dispatched on Saturdays or Sundays.

What are the delivery timescales?
Orders are dispatched by Parcelforce 24 (next day) or Royal Mail Special Delivery (by 1pm next day) parcel service. Orders may arrive up to 2 working days after dispatch although the great majority arrive the next working day. Deliveries will not be made on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.

Will you deliver on a nominated day?
Yes, we’ll do our best to deliver on the day you nominate, based on Parcelforce and Royal Mail ‘next day’ service levels but please bear in mind this isn’t a guarantee because the postal service is out of our control. All our shipping is ‘next day’ and our dispatch days are Monday-Friday, therefore Sundays and Mondays cannot be nominated as delivery days.

How do I know my order is on its way?
You will receive an email confirmation when you place an order and a second email when the order has been dispatched. If you don’t receive the emails please check your spam/junk folder. The delivery service provider (Parcelforce or Royal Mail) will send an SMS and/or email to the recipient advising them that a parcel is on its way (this is subject to the order booker providing the phone/email details of the recipient at time of ordering). Parcelforce will provide a tracking number to enable tracking of the parcel if required.

Does the delivery have to be signed for?
Someone needs to be available to receive the delivery. Most deliveries are by Parcelforce and if the recipient is not at home they will try to deliver to a neighbour and obtain their signature. If Parcelforce or Royal Mail cannot leave the parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place, they will send an SMS or leave a card explaining that a delivery has been attempted and giving details of how a re-delivery can be arranged. If required, Parcelforce can re-deliver to a local post office for collection. There is a barcode on the parcel that Parcelforce and Royal Mail will scan when they deliver the cake so that we know it was safely delivered.

Can I send to multiple addresses?
No, we regret each address requires its own order.

Can I send multiple cakes to one address?
No, we regret each cake requires its own order.

Can I change a delivery address or reschedule a delivery date?
We regret that once the order has been dispatched we can’t make changes.

Do you do returns?
The products are perishable and we cannot provide a refund unless they are proved to be faulty or damaged, in which case please put the details in writing to us at: Fairman Trading Ltd., PO Box 5205, Bradford on Avon, BA15 5BU. In the very unusual circumstance of simply ‘not liking’ the cake, we regret this does not mean the cake is faulty and it does not warrant a refund.

Are the cakes suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, all our cakes are vegetarian.

How long do the cakes keep?
If stored in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight, the cake will remain in good condition for up to 5 days after receipt (but it’s usually been devoured long before that!)

Can you personalise the cake?
We regret we cannot supply personalised or bespoke cakes (in terms of decoration, recipe or any other variation), but we do provide a personalised message card to accompany the cake.

Do you do bulk orders?
A bulk order is more than 5 cakes. If you wish to order more than 5 cakes then please email us for special arrangements and we’ll be pleased to supply you.

Is there VAT on cake?
In the UK, cake is zero rated for VAT. However, the lovely cake tins are subject to VAT and this is reflected in the pricing.
