Our mission is to help you bring happiness to someone who deserves a special treat. Delicious handmade cake is a great alternative to giving the ever-predictable flowers or chocolates. It’s quite difficult to send cake through the post so we’ve thought hard and invested a lot of time and money in making it work. Not many people expect to receive a cake in the post so there’s often a wonderful element of surprise. Here’s some background to our ethos.
We are a family business based in the South West of England. Cakes are in our genes. Our founder’s mum ran a cake business from home, and her mum opened a tea room and made all her own cakes. Cake has made us the people we are. We live and breathe cake. Four rules govern our ethos and everything we do:
Handmade, top quality. No compromises on using the best ingredients. No added preservatives, or artificial colours or flavours.
You, the customer, come first. We aim to give you top-notch service.
Our beautiful cake tins, cartons and padding materials can all be recycled.
To help the UK economy, our cakes, tins and cartons are all made in the UK. (Yes, we could buy the tins cheaper from China, but we won’t). See Blog about our plastic. See Blog about our tins.
We don’t store credit card details and we promise not to pass on your email address or postal address to third parties.
We believe in giving something back. For every cake sold we donate 25p to charity.
Our current charity is Dorothy House Hospice (registered charity no. 275745). See our Blog about Dorothy House.
