Nominated Delivery Day
You can nominate a delivery date, except for Sundays and Mondays. We will do our best to deliver on the day you nominate, dispatching the day before your nominated day, based on Parcelforce and Royal Mail ‘next day’ service levels, but please bear in mind this isn’t a guarantee because the postal service is out of our control. As no shipments are made on Saturdays or Sundays this means deliveries will not be made on Sundays and Mondays.
For order dispatch ‘working days’ are defined as 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Orders received before 2pm can be dispatched the same day if the order requires it. For orders received after 2pm, the earliest date of dispatch will be the next working day. Orders are not dispatched on Saturdays or Sundays.
Orders are dispatched by Parcelforce 24 (next day) and Royal Mail Special Delivery (by 1pm next day) parcel service. Orders may arrive up to 2 working days after dispatch although the large majority arrive the next working day.
Sundays and Public Holidays
Deliveries will not be made on Sundays and public holidays.
Does the recipient need to be at home to sign for the parcel?
Someone needs to be available to receive the parcel and sign for it. Most deliveries are via Parcelforce and if the recipient is not at home they will try to deliver to a neighbour and obtain their signature. If Parcelforce or Royal Mail cannot leave the parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place, they will leave a card or send an SMS explaining that a delivery has been attempted and giving details of how a re-delivery can be arranged. If required, Parcelforce can re-deliver to a local post office for collection. There is a barcode on the parcel that Parcelforce and Royal Mail will scan when they deliver the cake so that we know it was safely delivered.
